Multi Purpose Vehicle
New at the end of 2011 Kern Valley Search and Rescue added a vehicle capable of traveling over any terrain and provide a previously unavailable resource in the Kern River Valley. The ARGO is an 8 wheel vehicle equipped with tracks that provide superior flotation to travel across snow and mud. The vehicle will provide an option for patient transport from areas that are not accessible by ambulances, typical vehicle, or helicopters due to weather. In addition to rescue capabilities, it is a solid platform to search the wild terrain of Kern County. The vehicle is stationed in Lake Isabella and can be responded at the request of the Sheriff Department, Fire Department, or EMS.
